September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, and ACTION is excited to announce the launch of our newest initiative: Cardio-Oncology!
This initiative will focus on supporting individuals whose cancer treatments may affect their hearts.
Our first resource, created in partnership with the International Cardio-Oncology Society (IC-OS), is a Cardiotoxicity & Cancer informational handout designed for patients and families.
This easy-to-read guide explains:
- What cardiotoxicity is and how it relates to cancer treatments
- When heart damage may occur
- Ways doctors check for cardiotoxicity
- Dexrazoxane as a possible preventative therapy
