HeartMate 3^TM LVAD Algorithms & Care Guide

The Harmonization Committee has finalized the HeartMate 3 LVAD Algorithms & Care Guide for providers. Special thanks to Mehreen Iqbal, Katrina Fields, Andrea Maurich, Kristen Nelson-McMillan, Tanya Perry, Mary Raffel, Kerry Schindler, Sebastian Tume, our committee leadership; Jennifer Conway, David Peng, Katie Simpson, and all the contributing centers that helped to put these algorithms together.

1. Download a PDF. There is a single panel per page pdf, and full spread per page pdf available on the provider side of MAE in the Emergency Care > HeartMate 3 section and the HeartMate 3 > Extra Credit section 
2. Get a printed copy.  ACTION is printing and laminating the accordion folded cards to distribute to centers - please complete this brief survey if you would like to receive a stack of laminated cards. Please submit 1 response per center.  

UPDATED Impella^® OPS

Check out the newly updated provider One Page Summary (OPS) featuring the Impella^® Left CP and the Impella^® 5.5 (with SmartAssist).

This OPS, co-branded with Johnson & Johnson MedTech, includes an overview of the device selection, system components, display elements, waveforms, as well as highlighting anticoagulation, power sources and potential scenarios.

Looking for: A full-time pediatric transplant cardiologist

The Opportunity:   The physician must be board-certified in Pediatric Cardiology and have completed advanced fellowship training in heart failure and transplantation. The ideal candidate would have expertise in managing advanced heart failure and cardiac transplant patients, in addition to use of mechanical circulatory support (MCS).

Responsibilities Include: The physician will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of cardiologists and advanced practice providers specializing in transplant, heart failure, and MCS, offering comprehensive care to pediatric and young adult patients. Patient care responsibilities include hospital service, outpatient clinics, and periodic satellite clinic coverage. Candidates should have an interest and passion for teaching, as they will be involved in training of the next generation of physicians with Memorial’s ACGME-accredited Residency and Fellowship Programs. Research interests are encouraged and supported.
