Pediatric patients with ventricular assist devices often have access to neurodevelopmental providers in the inpatient setting, though supports vary by centre. Strengthening family neurodevelopmental education, referral processes, and family-centered psychosocial services may improve current neurodevelopmental/psychosocial care for pediatric ventricular assist device patients.

First Pediatric Cardiac Device IDE Trial (Berlin Heart EXCOR® Active Driver) has Completed Enrollment Using the ACTION Registry

ACTION, in conjunction with Berlin Heart, Inc., launched the first prospective FDA regulated device trial using a pediatric ventricular assist device (VAD) registry in November 2022. Enrollment in the trial has been completed as of August 11, 2023, just 10 months after launch.
